KATTUS is Vienna's oldest sparkling wine producer, founded in 1857 by a man who had learned traditional bottle fermentation from Madame Clicquot herself in Champagne. Six generations later, the family house still operates from the same address in Döbling, Vienna's nineteenth district, producing sparkling wine through methods that range from Méthode Traditionnelle to Pét Nat. In 1898, Emperor Franz Joseph I awarded KATTUS the title of k.u.k. Hoflieferant. Vienna's only family-owned Sektkellerei has been refining wine into sparkling wine ever since.
