M. Maurer

M. MAURER is Vienna's last passementerie factory, producing braids, cords, tassels, fringes, uniform effects, and textile details at Kandlgasse 20 in the seventh district since 1863. Around 100 machines, many of them as old as the company itself, run daily in the workshop. The manufactory works across an unusually broad range of contexts: traditional dress, uniforms, orders and awards, theatre, film, ecclesiastical textiles, and interior design. Led today by Konrad Maurer and his son Albert, the sixth generation of the family, M. MAURER carries a living craft that has become rare.
